GIA requires students to follow a uniform policy that promotes professionalism and equality. Grooming and attire must adhere to school guidelines. Exceptions can be made for medical, religious, or personal reasons. Uniforms can be purchased through the school’s online store.
At GIA, we believe that school uniforms are a student’s professional attire. Uniforms and policies regarding jewelry, hair, and makeup are intended to promote school spirit, minimize
distractions, create a sense of fairness, and positively affect school climate, allowing students to focus on developing their skills and ethics rather than emphasizing material effects. We urge students to compete in appropriate arenas such as academics, fine arts, and sports, and to express their individualism via art, rhetoric, and interpersonal skills. GIA respects students’ religious customs and permits students to wear yarmulkes, hijabs, topi caps, and other such
religious headgear.
We require all students to wear a uniform consisting of navy blue, white, or grey polo shirts with our school logo emblazoned, worn with navy blue, khaki, or grey bottoms. Bottoms may consist of shorts, skirts, skorts, or pants. Each student is required to own a blue, white, or grey GIA polo shirt for field trips and a white button-down GIA shirt for formal occasions, such as graduation and awards ceremony. In addition:
Uniform tops and bottoms may be purchased from GIA’s business office, through the receptionist. Alternatively, uniform-style polo shirts may be purchased and brought to the receptionist to have the logo embroidered.
Note: New students will receive a one-week grace period before being required to adhere to the uniform policy.
For safety purposes, the following are the requirements for footwear:
Note: The business office does not sell footwear; parents are responsible for acquiring footwear for their children that meets these safety requirements.

The school principal is responsible for interpreting and enforcing GIA’s uniform policy. Contact
the school principal with any questions regarding uniforms, appropriate footwear, or grooming expectations. Students who violate the uniform policy will remain in the office until a parent brings appropriate uniforms or footwear to change into. Students who do not adhere to grooming expectations will be managed by the school principal on a case-by-case basis.
Exceptions
The school principal may grant a student a short- or long-term exception to one of the uniform rules. Parents must submit a request for the exception directly to the school principal. In such cases, parents are required to supply their children with clothing that matches the school’s uniform as closely as possible. Possible exceptions include:
