At Georgetown International Academy, our age guidelines ensure students are placed in the appropriate grade level for optimal learning.
To qualify for admission to Nursery Class, students must turn 3 by October 15 of the academic year for which they start school. We ask that students entering the Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 be fully toilet trained.

In most cases, students coming from schools where the academic year does not correspond with GIA’s August-June calendar (e.g., Brazil, South Africa, Australia) will continue in the same grade level when they enter GIA (e.g., a student who has completed grade 2 in Brazil and arrives midway through our school year will complete the rest of the year in grade 2 before moving on to grade 3.
To ensure a smooth and positive experience for all our young learners, we require that students entering Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 programs be fully toilet trained.
