Why “A Leap Ahead”?

At Georgetown International Academy, the jaguar is our symbol of strength, courage, and pride. Did you know that when jaguars gather, the group is called a prowl or a “leap.” We love that image of a group of Jaguars being a leap because it perfectly captures who we are as a school community. When our students, families, and staff and faculty come together, we don’t just move forward—we leap ahead.

That’s why this new monthly Head of School communication is called “A Leap Ahead.” Each month, I’ll share highlights, celebrations, and important updates about the amazing ways our community is learning, growing, and thriving together. My hope is that this becomes a place where you can see the joy, progress, and spirit of our school come alive.
