Our Counseling Resources provide academic, social-emotional, and college-career support, helping students navigate transitions, build emotional intelligence, and make informed decisions about their future
Our counselors connect new GIA students with a “first friend” and can look forward to community activities to help build and strengthen friendships and integrate into the GIA community. Our counselors assist new students in the culture adjustment as well as supporting students transitioning out of GIA.
GIA students build their emotional intelligence by learning how to identify their feelings and make connections between emotions and behaviors using the RULER curriculum. Students learn the importance of fostering belonging and positive social interactions through individual and group support with the counselor.
GIA students are educated to become lifelong learners through academic skill building. Our counselors advocate for students and assist them in making the best course selections to reach their highest academic potential. They also collaborate with parents and teachers to promote
equity for every student.
Our counselors provide GIA students with structured support in discovering their personal interests, career options, and making decisions about their post-secondary education through student/family meetings and workshops. Our counselors also assist students and families in finding the ideal university match and are guided through the university application process.
