It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to Georgetown International Academy (GIA). As the Head of School, I am committed to upholding GIA’s tradition of academic excellence, global awareness, and empowering well-rounded individuals. Our goal is to provide every student with the opportunity to explore their passions, develop their skills, and prepare for a world that is constantly changing.
GIA was established in 1971 to serve the U.S. embassy and, over time, we have grown to serve the local diplomatic and multinational business communities. We are proud to be the only US accredited educational institution in Guyana, accredited by the New England Association for Schools and Colleges, and we are members of regional groups, AMSIA, TRI-Association, and Educational Collaborative of International Schools, which allows us to offer students opportunities on par with the finest institutions in the region.
At GIA, we are a diverse community representing more than 37 nationalities. Despite our diversity, we are a close-knit community that believes in partnerships with parents, families, and the local community. We value collaboration and believe that together we can create a supportive and enriching environment for all students.
