Our Design Studio empowers students to explore design, engineering, and coding through hands-on experiences, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving in a state-of-the-art environment.
We believe in fostering creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning experiences for every student. Our state-of-the-art Design Studio is a dynamic space where all K-12 students explore the realms of design, engineering, coding, and fabrication, including digital fabrication methods like 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and textile fabrication techniques like sewing machines, hand sewing, painting, and papier-mâché. It is a space where students can unleash their imagination, explore new ideas, and make meaningful connections with their community and the world.
The Design Studio serves as a hub of creativity and innovation, empowering students to think critically, collaborate, and create solutions to real-world problems. Whether they’re designing prototypes, coding robots, or crafting works of art, our students have access to a wide range of tools and resources to bring their ideas to life.
Our Design Studio features cutting-edge equipment, including CNC routers, laser cutters, 3D printers, electronics kits, robotics platforms like VEX, Arduino, and Lego Mindstorms, a variety of woodworking tools and machines, and sewing machines. This diverse array of tools allows students to explore their interests and passions, while gaining valuable hands-on experience in various fields of design and technology.
We use the Design Studio to host professional development sessions for teachers, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to integrate design thinking and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) concepts into their curriculum.
In 2024, we hosted Guyana’s first-ever Model United Nations event in our Design Studio, providing students with opportunities to engage with real-world issues and develop leadership skills, while fostering global citizenship. We continue to look for opportunities to host special events for the students and community to engage..
